Washed vs. Unwashed Shisha

When choosing which shisha to buy, you have the choice between washed and unwashed shisha, and the difference between the two really boils down the amount of nicotine in each.

Some shisha manufacturers, such as Tangiers, offer both washed and unwashed shisha, but for the most part most companies stick to one or the other.

Washed Shisha

Washed shisha has less nicotine, 0.05% to be exact. You experience less buzz from washed brands and they are usually much easier to smoke by people who just beginning to smoke hookah. Here is a list of washed tobacco brands:

What about herbal hookah with nicotine? Is there such a thing as tobacco-free hookah that contains nicotine?

    • Josh says:

Herbal shisha contains absolutely no tobacco, therefore there is no nicotine. There are other health issues you should be aware of smoking herbal shisha, such as the sugar cane used in the process that can be harmful if inhaled.

      • Loretta says:

But I’ve heard that you can go to some places and smoke herbal shisha that has pure nicotine added to it. Or products that are tobacco-free, but have nicotine in them – because once you remove nicotine from the tobacco, it is no longer tobacco.

        • William says:

What? Why would you smoke herbal shisha if your just going to add nicotine to it. Just buy an unwashed shisha if that’s what you want. People who smoke herbal shisha do it because there is no nicotine in it.

The people who smoke herbal shisha with nicotine added to it are simply wasting their money and defeating the purpose of herbal shisha.

I simply stumbled across this discussion from 2010 but had to leave some information for anyone else who comes along.
